Knauf, a materials laboratory under the same roof as the office.
Headquarters for a construction chemicals manufacturer in Tashkent - an open working core, meeting rooms fitted with Heradesign acoustic panels and a showroom of finished solutions.
An interior that works as a living showroom for the product line.
Knauf was opening a new office in Tashkent with a requirement to make it work as both a functioning headquarters and a showcase for its own finishing products. The space had to prove the product's quality simply by existing.
The key conditions were set out in advance - Heradesign acoustic panels on ceilings and walls, Knauf finishing compounds and coatings throughout every zone, and one warm palette matching the company brand book.
Designing the space around the product catalogue.
We started by taking stock of every Knauf finishing product due to appear in the project, then laid out the plan so each zone would show specific catalogue items in natural use, not as exhibits, but as part of the working environment.
JEB partitions, Interface carpet, SWG light profiles and Heradesign acoustic ceiling tiles form one system in which the product and the architecture cannot be separated.
Zoning for different ways of working.
Forty workstations run along the panoramic glazing, four meeting rooms of different sizes sit in the inner core, and an acoustically isolated quiet zone supports focused work. The reception, with its display shelf of material samples, is the first thing a visitor sees on arrival.
A break out area with soft seating and a coffee point separates the open plan working zone from the meeting room block, creating a buffer and an informal spot for short conversations.
17 weeks from signing to handover.
The project ran as design and build, with one team carrying the concept and the construction forward together, which cut down approvals and delivered the office on time. All twelve Knauf product categories agreed in the brief appear in the finished space.
The office now works as a full showroom. Partners and clients regularly hold meetings here, and the space itself becomes part of the pitch.
A space where every material sits exactly where it belongs, not for display, but for work - that is what a product looks like when the manufacturer believes in it.
