The Asian Development Bank's Uzbekistan office is a working presence for a major international financial institution. The space had to meet ADB's corporate standard, a neutral environment without excess, with an emphasis on meeting rooms and desks for both local and visiting staff.
The project ran in coordination with ADB's technical department. Sign off on every specification section, from furniture to low voltage systems, was mandatory.
Planning built around a front-middle-back structure.
The floor is divided into three consecutive layers, a reception and waiting area for visitors, an operational open space with 90 workstations, and a closed perimeter of meeting rooms and management offices. Separate zones are set aside for temporary staff and visiting personnel.
Every material, including the light neutral finish, Interface carpet tiles and Armstrong suspended ceilings with integrated lighting, was signed off against the organisation's global standard.
8 meeting rooms for every kind of meeting.
The meeting room block accounts for a significant share of the project, eight rooms of different sizes, from small one on one booths to a twenty seat room for delegation visits. Every room is fitted with video conferencing and a universal connection point for any type of equipment.
The reception, with its waiting area, a coffee point and a spot for informal conversations, sits at the centre of the floor, where staff and visitor flows cross.

The full as-built package - material specifications with alternative options, itemised cost estimates and concealed works certificates - went to the bank's archive after a sign off with no remarks.
